The countdown to the new season is well and truly underway, with FC Magpies learning the schedule that will shape the opening stages of our 2026/27 league campaign.

The Magpies begin Game Week 1 against Lions Gibraltar FC on Saturday 22 August, as we look to make a positive start to the new season.

The first round of league fixtures will run through to Game Week 11 on 22 November, when we face reigning champions Lincoln Red Imps FC in what promises to be one of the standout fixtures of the opening phase of the campaign.

Due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Manchester 62 FC's non-participation in the 2026/27 season, the league schedule will include bye rounds. FC Magpies have been allocated a bye in Game Week 6, with a second bye coming in Game Week 17 during the return round of fixtures.

Rock Cup Returns in January

Attention will also turn to knockout football in the New Year, with the 2026/27 Rock Cup scheduled to begin in January 2027.

The competition will once again provide another important objective for the club as we look to compete strongly across both league and cup football throughout the season.

Championship or Challenge Group in April

Following the completion of the regular phase of the Gibraltar Football League season, the competition will split for its decisive final stage.

Depending on our league position, FC Magpies will enter either the Championship Group or the Challenge Group in April 2027, setting up the final run of fixtures that will determine the club's finishing position for the 2026/27 campaign.

With a new season, new additions to the squad and another demanding campaign ahead, preparations are already firmly focused on that opening fixture against Lions Gibraltar FC.
