FC Magpies First Team Returns to Pre-Season Training Ahead of Europa Conference League Campaign

FC Magpies have officially kicked off preparations for their upcoming UEFA Europa Conference League campaign, returning to pre-season training last week with an intensive fitness testing session held by the Gibraltar Institute of Sport (GIS).

The squad reunited under the guidance of coach Terrence Jolley, with the focus squarely on building fitness and cohesion ahead of their European fixtures next month. The opening sessions, conducted by GIS, featured comprehensive physical assessments designed to evaluate the players’ current condition after the summer break and tailor individualised training plans moving forward.

"We're pleased to be back and getting straight to work," Jolley said. "The players came in motivated and in good shape. The collaboration with GIS has been invaluable in giving us a clear picture of where we are and where we need to be before July."

The Magpies, who secured their place in the Europa Conference League following their Rock Cup final victory, will face their latest test on the continental stage in early July. With just a few weeks to prepare, the club is prioritising physical readiness, tactical sharpness, and integrating new signings into the squad.

The team is expected to step up preparations with friendly matches and tactical drills throughout June, as anticipation builds for what could be a historic European debut for some Gibraltarian players.

"We know what's at stake," said club captain Zuniga. "Representing Gibraltar in Europe is an honour, and we're going to give it everything we've got."

Further details regarding FC Magpies' upcoming fixtures and squad announcements are expected later this month.
