FC Magpies are delighted to announce a new four-year partnership with JOHAN Sports, introducing the company’s GPS and heart-rate tracking technology as an important part of the Club’s long-term approach to player development and performance.
The partnership will see FC Magpies integrate JOHAN Sports’ player monitoring technology across its football operations, providing the Club’s technical and performance staff with detailed physical data from training sessions and matches.
Through GPS and heart-rate monitoring, the system will allow the coaching team to track key performance indicators including player workload, distance covered, high-intensity running, speed, accelerations and heart-rate response.
The information collected will provide greater insight into the physical demands placed on each individual player, allowing training programmes to be better tailored to their needs and helping the Club monitor development throughout the season.

Importantly, the technology will also support load management and injury prevention, enabling the coaching and medical teams to identify changes in workload and physical output and make more informed decisions around training intensity, recovery and return-to-play programmes.
The four-year agreement represents a significant commitment by FC Magpies to developing its sports science and performance infrastructure, with objective data increasingly playing an important role alongside the experience and judgement of coaches and medical professionals.
The partnership will also provide an important platform for long-term player development, allowing the Club to build individual performance profiles and monitor progression over multiple seasons.
For FC Magpies, the agreement forms part of the Club’s wider ambition to continue professionalising its football operations and provide its players and coaching staff with the tools required to maximise performance.
FC Magpies looks forward to working closely with JOHAN Sports over the next four years as we continue investing in technology, performance and the development of our players.
